As foam, EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is considered by a significant body of safety monitors to be potentially harmful for children. Is clear, solid EVA, the material out which the Green Sprouts Teethers are made, any safer? Where is the EVA in these baby products manufactured? (On many sites, I see that it is manufactured in China, which has not exactly inspired public confidence, given their record of disastrous safety violations, committed for a profit motive, that have resulted in dead and acutely ill children.) Furthermore, is the CE certification on the teether self-determined (as Europe allows in certain products), or is CE certification for teethers and other things that go into baby's mouths determined by an external safety surveillance agency?
