I have a question about care rail extentions. I work at a
preschool and the railings going up the stairs are too high for our little 2 year olds to reach. We need a sturdy railing that will be used by many children everyday. Is your product strong enough for school use? I am not sure how you would hang it from the current railing? Do you need to attach to the wall which cinder block and what is the length of the railing. Thank so much
The banister mount unit can be mounted flush to a wall if you anchor using some concrete anchors (from local hardware store) and discard the piece that wraps around the spindle. The extruded fiberglass railing is quite durable, while the original wood ones were targeted for the home market.
This product will NOT work for ANY environment that does not already have a regularly kit. So if you are coming here asking questions about the extension, you are probably incorrectly thinking that it EXTENDS your handrail.
This is 36 inches. It absolutely works without the original CareRails mount kit - you can use this independently if you have shorter stairs. (Jason Burroughs answer is so not true). Best of all, it can be either attached directly to wall, attached to higher railing, or mounted on spindles if you have a banister staircase. Works great! Highly recommend!
