Melissah from QLD February 14th, 2010 I too have just bought the new bpa-free avent bottles and was very annoyed at how much they leak when you screw the cap on and shake them. I was not going to accept this as I've just spent a fortune on them, so I rang the freecall number on the back of the box to question this problem. I found out that it's a faulty batch! Apparently they were rushed for manufacturing and as a result, the threads on the bottles are slightly different, thus the reason for the lid not fitting the thead properly. They are sending me brand new ones to replace the faulty ones I have so DON'T THROW THEM AWAY. Ring Avent straight away and they should replace them with the new batch for you! Goodluck!

Ashley from Victoria, Australia December 13th, 2009 We really wanted the BPA free bottles to work but after many frustrating feeding sessions we sat down and wondered why the old bottles don't leak but these new ones do.
It is not the teats or the white screw connector tops. We believe it is the bottle's screw pattern. The shortest of the 3 screw pattern lines on the old bottle is a little bit longer than that of the new bottles.
Can't believe they are still selling them and they are sooo expensive.

Marie October 21st, 2009 These bottles are so expensive. I don't understand why it leaks so bad. Did they rush the production of these bottles because of the "bpa" issue and didn't undergo quality control anymore?

Julie Dalziel September 28th, 2009 Don't waste your money buying these leaky bottles. I upgraded from the old orginal avent (which we were happy with) to the new PBA free. This was not the cheapest way to get PBA free but decided to stick with what we know. Bad choice I am so frustrated with how much and how often they leak, so now considering throwing them out ($150.00 down the tube) and switching to another brand. Avent should recall these bottles as I belive they are not fit for their purpose.

tarsh July 30th, 2009 My son just turn one month and this is the first time of using avent bottles. The bottle leaks a lot and try screwing it is another waste of time. Baby get frustrated due to wet bibs and clothes and you cannot help it than to smash the bottle against the wall.

Jennifer July 24th, 2009 My son is breast fed when I am hom and given bottles during the day at daycare. These bottles are great. We haven't had any trouble with nipple confusion. Plus they are BPA free.

Tien June 8th, 2009 Hi I bought the 9 oz bpa bottles recently and it leaks alot. Have tried screwing it real tight and at different tightness but it seems to always leaks. I am sooo dissapointed with the bottles. The normal non-bpa ones don't leak, wonder why avent can't invent non-leaky bpa free bottles.

nina from Tbilisi May 24th, 2009 I Agree with upper comment. I bought Avent Bottle because I have heard that they are the most modernized ones, thoug as soon as I put it in the diaper bag somehow all the diapers and baby clothes were wet. I didn't believed my eyes. if they could prevent this problem, it would be great.
the form of the bottle is perfect and I love holding it as well as my baby

A E from MN November 23rd, 2008 Some people RAVE about Avent. I'm not one of those people- but I also don't dislike them terribly.
They're BPA-Free, which is awesome. The reason I tried them is while I don't mind washing all the vent/valve parts that come with other bottles, I thought I could try these since they have the least amount of individual pieces. And for that reason, I like them- fewer parts to wash. I REALLY don't like the fact that they leak. I am a competent, instruction following person, however these bottles STILL leak occasionally. I have also read that the instructions work perfect for the regular old non BPA-Free bottles, but these bottles (although they look identicle) tend to leak more. I wouldn't know since I never used the original. Sometimes I'm lucky and they don't leak- but I never let anyone else make a bottle with these because everytime they do, they leak- you have to practice.
If they could just figure out a way to fix the leak problem- there's got to be a way to have a vent that works without making the assembly an exact science.
