I originally purchased this from Williams-Sonoma before it was available on Baby Earth. It's super easy to use. All you do is pour water into the basket (that has convenient measuring level on the side that you follow per the instruction booklet), pour the measured water into the steam compartment, attach the bowl with steam basket full of food, twist on the lid, and steam! Once you're done steaming, you just puree your baby's food according to the consistency they can handle and you're done!
The design of the Babycook is perfect for baby food. I originally tried to use my food processor, but the design of the Babycook is superior because the blade isn't held in place by a center column that protrudes from the bowl. This means that the bowl of the Babycook has more room for the food and it's a cinch to clean (way easier than my food processor). It's also really quiet compared to my food processor, so baby doesn't wake up during her nap while I prepare food.
Another superior design element is the shape and direction of the blades. This purees the food much better than my food processer does because the design of the blades sucks the non-pureed food down the center and thru the blades.
The all-in-one design of the Babycook is great, too. The only thing you have to clean is the bowl and the steam basket, which is dishwasher safe. The blades detach very easily, and they include an extra washer for the blades in the event you lose one or yours wears out.
The Beaba Babycook is great for reheating baby's food, too. Just stick her frozen food in the steam basket and steam!
The Babycook comes with an instruction booklet and a little recipe book. I bought several recipe books, though, in addition to the one included because the recipe book that comes with the Babycook is pretty small and limited.
I highly recommend the Babycook for those parents who, like me, want to make their child's food without buying it from the store. If you want to see a demonstration of it, go to the Williams-Sonoma website and look it up there. There should be a demonstration that shows you how easy it is to work the Beaba Babycook. (But be sure to buy it from Baby Earth!) :)
