Mom Getting Pulled Over Turns Into Getting Help For Christmas

Megan Nierman took to social media to share a story about how a recent traffic stop turned into a Christmas blessing from one Indiana officer. After dropping her 2-year-old daughter off at the babysitter, Nierman was pulled over for speeding. She confessed to the officer her license plates were expired also.
“Please take it easy on me, I’m a single mom and I don’t have the extra money, my ex-husband left … and doesn’t send us child support,'” Nierman told Sgt. Evan Love of the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office.
When she saw the officer walking back to her car holding a ticket, she was disappointed. The officer had a deal for her though. If she renewed her plates within a week he would tear up the speeding ticket.
Within that week Nierman let him know her plates were paid, and he kept his promise. Nierman was grateful for his kindness with the holidays upon her.

“After talking to her, I could tell she was really struggling and contact with the police was the last thing she needed. It just bothered me,” Love said.
Love and his family wanted to help make her holidays a little easier. They paid a visit to Nierman at the Ulta Beauty store she worked at one day. When they approached her, she thought the man seemed familiar. Once he started talking she realized it was the same officer who pulled her over. Love gave Nierman a Christmas card, and she was brought to tears when she found a $300 Target gift card inside.
Love says these acts of kindness happen all the time in his department and across the nation. Officers aren’t always looking to write a ticket, but for ways to help the people they serve.
