US Moms Spend Almost as Much on Child Care as Rent

Parents shouldn't have to decide between having to pay for housing and daycare, but that's exactly the position some U.S. parents are finding themselves in.

According to a report from Care.com, moms and dads are spending over $1300 a month on child care expenses, which almost rivals the median US rent, which is $1500.

While at-home child care prices still exceed in-center care for children, the cost can be exorbitant, especially for single-parent families.
