Bratt Decor was born out of a love for design, excitement about the founders' first baby and a synergy of mind and spirit between husband and wife. In 1995, Mary and Stephen Bauer were expecting their first child and "were delirious with the anticipation and excitement that your first child brings."

As Mary began to decorate the nursery, she focused on finding the perfect crib - the centerpiece of the nursery. However, Mary could not find anything that satisfied her vision so husband Stephen designed the perfect crib. Aptly named Casablanca Plume, it was a four-poster, black wrought iron crib topped with ostrich feathers. The business has been refined since that first crib but Bratt Decor's spirit of design, innovation and functionality remains unchanged.

As both the family and Bratt Decor have grown, the company also manufactures high-quality furnishing for older children such as trundle beds, bookcases, table and chair sets and desks. In an effort to make furniture that will grow with your child from infant to toddler, nearly all Bratt Decor wooden cribs can be converted to a daybed with a conversion kit. Additionally, all Bratt Decor products are stylish and functional so they will look at home in an older child's room or anywhere else in the house.

The Casablanca Premiere crib adds vintage charm and luxury to any nursery. Made entirely of hand-bent wrought iron, this beautiful crib has a cleverly integrated drop front gate for ease-of-use. Additionally, the mattress has three varying height positions for enhanced sleeping comfort. In keeping with Bratt Decor's philosophy of producing pieces that last for years and years, the Casablanca converts to a toddler daybed by simply removing the front gate and lowering the mattress.

Another gorgeous, heirloom-quality piece is the four-poster Heritage Crib. The solid construction utilizes fixed side rails (meaning the front gate does not move) and the mattress has three height adjustments. The Heritage is hand-painted and distressed for a vintage feel and it is available in a number of different finishes. The crib comes with standard ball finials but these can be customized by choosing airplanes, flowers, stars or bunnies (sold separately).

The Chelsea Dresser is another classic piece of furniture that is designed to grow with your child. Large enough to be used for all of baby's needs as a changing table, the changing tray can then be removed for use as a dresser. The dresser features a beautiful hand-applied patina and seven drawers for plenty of storage.
