One of the newest additions to the world-renown Britax family of car seats, the Britax Diplomat is a compact convertible car seat designed for use with smaller vehicles. As a mini version of the best-selling Britax Boulevard, the Diplomat offers outstanding safety and comfort features in a reduced-size, contoured base - giving parents a high-end Britax car seat without the traditional bulkiness.

As a convertible car seat, the Britax Diplomat can be installed facing rear for newborns and infants and then convert to a forward-facing seat to accommodate older babies. The Diplomat has the highest rear-facing weight limit of any Britax convertible car seat and can support babies from 5 to 35 pounds. In the forward-facing position, the Britax Diplomat can support 20 to 40 pounds and up to 40 inches tall. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the rear-facing car seat position at least until one year old and 20 pounds. The Diplomat's rear-facing harness will fit most children from birth until well past their first birthday, making it a great choice as a first car seat and also for babies who have outgrown their infant rear-facing only seat but are still too young to move to a forward-facing seat.
