Dwell Home Furnishing was founded by Christiane Lemieux in 1999 in an effort to incorporate more modern textile design into home furnishings. Joined by Jennifer Chused and Joshua Young, the company quickly established itself as a leader and innovator in the bedding market. Dwell expanded their offering of home products to include table, baby and junior furnishings. In November 2007, the company launched DwellStudio, a name that combined all Dwell lines into one cohesive brand.

DwellStudio feels that every step of their business impacts the planet and this belief is reflected in their products. All DwellStudio prints are created using low-impact dyes which contain no heavy metals, no known toxic substances and are Azo and formaldehyde free. DwellStudio also offers a collection of completely organic baby products made from the finest Portuguese organic cotton available. In the design studio, the company fosters a philosophy of conservation by recycling, going paperless wherever possible and eliminating waste. DwellStudio recently launched a packaging redesign and now products are packaged in bags or boxes that can be reused for zero waste. Finally, creating well designed products that are intended for long-term use translates to less waste in landfills and a reduction in energy to produce replacement products.
