Eco-Friendly Nursery Paint

Regardless of your doctor’s stance on whether you should paint the nursery during pregnancy or assign the task to someone else, expecting parents (and parents of children in general) should know that eco-friendly paint options exist, which present lower risks of exposure to hazardous chemicals and toxic fumes. Remember, “eco-friendly” or not, it’s always a good idea to make sure the room you’re painting has adequate ventilation (i.e. keep the windows open) to help with any fumes.

Recall: Stanley ‘Built to Grow’ Cribs

Author: Green Treehouse  //  Category: Recalls

June 26, 2008: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (”CPSC”) has announced a voluntary recall of about 1,200 “2nd Nature Built to Grow Cribs,” manufactured by Stanley Furniture Company Inc., of Stanleytown, Va. The recall involves only certain crib models. It does not include cribs sold after December 2007.

According to CPSC, “The cribs could fail to meet a federal safety standard for crib dimensions. When the mattress support is in the middle setting, the space between the mattress and the crib could be too wide, posing an entrapment hazard to infants.” Consumers are advised to “immediately stop using the crib in the middle mattress setting.”

Babylicious Bedding

Gearing up for baby, eh?  If hip is your style (like it is for daddy celeb Hugh Jackman), add something Babylicious to your baby shower wish list, like Babylicious Bedding.  As featured on Parents.com, Canada based Babylicious offers fresh and groovy nursery products, like changing pad covers, sheets, and “fringe” crib bumpers which eliminate the “should I or shouldn’t I bumper the crib” question.

Babylicious Fringe

Oh, in case you’re wondering what’s so cool about “fringe,” let me tell you.  Instead of using a controversial traditional bumper that ties alongside the crib rails, “fringe” ties to the top and hangs like mini flags for an ultra chic look.

If you like funky, unique designs (think, Zutano), you’re going to fall head over heels in love with Babylicious.  But you don’t have to take my word for it.  Parents.com, celebrities, and BabyEarth’s own Kimberly, also think Babylicious rocks.
