Eddie Bauer Newport Wooden High Chair

This high chair only came with a three point harness. My child got out of it and fell on his head. I called the company to ask for a five point harness, they said "Are you sure he was in the hi chair correctly?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME, I must have put him in upside down! They wouldn’t help me without a receipt, (it was a shower gift). When your child gets older (my boy of about 10 months), they start to really move around and try to stand up wiggle etc. If your child does not have a FIVE POINT harness he can really hurt himself. I did not know this because he was pretty sedate for the first ten months and stayed safe in the chair. He fell out one more time and I became livid. I literally had to scream at customer service to get any resolution. They said they have never heard of this complaint, sure, and my child is the only active one year old boy in the world, or maybe I am just the only mom stupid enough to think this high chair would be tested safe.

Moms- do not buy this UNSAFE chair, get a FIVE POINT HARNESS! I hope my child doesn’t have permanent damage after the fall, and yes I was right there. I am writing because I could not bear if something happened to my beautiful boy and this company put his life in jeopardy! I was a fool thinking a baby product would be safe, I will not be taken like that again. The company offered to send me a packaging label to return the chair for a partial refund. I will go find a safer high chair, keep in mind it seemed safe for 10 months, and they won’t take it back after a year. All the other comments are true also, very hard to clean! The only thing good about it is, it is stable, but that doesn’t help when your child could slip out and fall on his head! Because They sold unsafe baby products, I will never buy anything Eddie Bauer or COSTCO ( parent company) again. How could they let our little angels be harmed???????????????

The fact that this product remains on the market is upsetting, they could easily design one with a FIVE POINT HARNESS, please tell your mom friends!
