We've converted several "regular" backpacks to daypacks that are much easier on the shoulders during a long hike. The chest strap works with ANY backpack. If (for some reason) you can't undo the shoulder straps all the way (to slip this strap into), you can just use carabeaners to attach to the shoulder strap. Great product, and very reasonable!
