Dawn from Smithtown, NY December 8th, 2009 We have tried many slings, and a few carriers...this is the most comfortable for parent and baby. Our caregiver also uses it comfortably. Easy. Practical. Worth the money for sure!

R. Wu from Short Hills, NJ November 24th, 2009 I was hesitant to purchase this online without trying it on first, but I was glad I did. Very comfortable, no back strain, neck strain or whatsoever. It is my husband's favorite out of all the other baby carriers/slings that I have purchased. I like my Moby wrap too, but it takes a while to put it on and doesn't go well with bulky winter clothes. Highly recommend this!

First time mommy from NY November 16th, 2009 I ordered the Ergo baby after many moms told me it is better than the Baby Bjorn. I am so glad I did! It distributes the baby's weight to your hips so it doesn't hurt your back. It is definitely highly recommended once your baby starts getting heavier.

Tiffany from Denver November 4th, 2009 We had been using the Bjorn for our infant daughter but when she hit 10 lbs it was hurting my shoulders (and my husbands). We bought the ergo (with the infant adaptor) and are very happy with it. We miss the fact that she can't look out the front (she is too small for that position right now) as she could with the bjorn, but overall, the Ergo is the best product for us now. The sun shield is a great added benefit (especially when you forget a sun hat) and the pocket in the front is another nice addition. It takes a few tries to get accustomed to putting it on (especially with the infant adaptor), but overall I highly recommend it to all people looking for a carrier. In retrospect I could have bought this in the beginning and saved on also buying a sling and a Bjorn.

Maga from Boston, MA October 2nd, 2009 Very useful and safe for babies that are going though the process of learning how to walk. So when they get tired you can pick them up and hold them for long periods of time with out straining the adults back.
Also very good to relieve mom back pain.
Excellent for the airports :-))

Marek from Layton, UT September 30th, 2009 I purchased the Ergo Baby Carrier when my daughter was 9 months old and 22 lbs. My husband and I bought the Bjorn before she was born because it was the best option we knew about at the time. When we found out about the Ergo Baby Carrier (all thanks to Baby Earth's featured item of the week), I was extremely interested because of all the positive feedback, and because wearing her in our Bjorn was so uncomfortable after only a few minutes. I also was looking for a carrier I could wear with her that exceeded the usual 22-25 lb. mark. Finally I just dove in and got it and I haven't regretted it since.
The Pros:
I could wear my baby ALL DAY in this thing, and she would gladly ride in it all day, as well. The design is superior because the Ergo includes a waist belt. The weight of the baby moves to your hips rather than your shoulders, like the Bjorn. The design is VERY similar to the hard frame backpacking baby carriers you find at outdoor retailers, but it's not a hard frame so it is more versatile for every day use and hiking use.
From all my research I have found out that carriers like the Bjorn are not good on a baby's spine. Because my baby isn't being held by her crotch like the Bjorn, she's much more comfortable in the Ergo. She has enough room to sit on her rear in the Ergo.
The Ergo can be worn 3 ways: side, back, and front. I was initially tentative about the Ergo because some find it difficult to put on. When I bought it, I decided to take the plunge and try putting my baby on my back before trying the front. I just sat on the couch and followed the instructions and she was in in a snap. It really wasn't NEARLY as difficult as others were making it out to seem. All you do is connect the waist belt, put one shoulder strap on, slide her in, put the other shoulder strap on, then connect the chest snaps! Then I went outside to mow the lawn! She LOVED IT!
I grocery shop with her strapped to my back all the time at the big wholesale stores! It's easier than the shopping cart for me, because I like to spend the least amount of time in wholesale stores so I feel like I can get in and out without giving her whiplash in the stroller.
I just got the suck pads, which I think are an essential accessory, and they are great! That way she can suck on the suckpads instead of the baby carrier. They are a small investment for extending the life of the carrier, and then you only have to wash the suckpads!
Now I have a way to carry my daughter around until she's bigger. My husband and I travel a lot, so when we don't want to pack a stroller around, this is a great alternative.
The Cons:
The only con we've experienced so far is that my husband has a harder time staying as comfortable as I do in it. He loves it better than the Bjorn, though, too. He claims that it is, indeed, way more comfortable than the Bjorn. His shoulders would ache so bad with it, just like mine. He can't wear the Ergo all day like I could, so I don't know if it's just designed more with the mom in mind than the dad, but it's not a big enough complaint to really warrant anything.
Other Ergo owners have complained that their child can't face forward in the Ergo, and that was a concern for me at first. My daughter doesn't care, because I can always have her on my back...but it hasn't been an issue. She doesn't mind facing me when she's worn in front. Besides, all the research that I've come across says that facing forward isn't the greatest for babies.
Conclusion:
We're selling our Bjorn and when we get another baby, we'll just by the infant insert! This is the best investment in any baby carrier out there!

T September 7th, 2009 My wife and I used the Ergo carrier for a trip across the country. We have a 2.5 yo boy who is almost 30 pounds. He still likes to be carried through busy areas such as parking lots, airports, etc and on our end it helps us move quicker as well. This carrier saved both of our backs on our trip. We used it during our tours of the cities, parks, and aquariums, etc. Once our son got used to it, he really enjoyed the ride and frequently took naps in it when straped to the front of our chest. Its very well made, easy to use once you get the straps adjusted and worth every penny.

Amy from SC July 10th, 2009 My daughter is 11 months and since getting the Ergo, I'm not quite sure what I did without it. She has been so comfortable- and I have been so much more comfortable carrying her. I tried several other carriers and I'm quite certain they will gather dust in the closet now. Wish I'd started with the Ergo.

Rita from CA June 26th, 2009 I love this carrier. It takes the weight off of my shoulders and back. I ordered this when my baby was six months and I've had it for one month now, it works great. I really like the fact that it transitions from front to side to back depending on what you need. I wish I found this carrier before my daughter was born (I had the Bjorn carrier). I have also recommended this carrier to my sister and she loves it too. Her son is 14 months old and she loves how the carrier doesn't strain her back and shoulders.

Marian from CA May 20th, 2009 We have a 2+ year old (36 lbs) and a 7 week old (10 lbs). With our first we bought the baby bjorn, which we later learned is not very good for babies' backs. Either way, our chunky son grew out of it way too quick. I looked at several carriers this time, and the Ergo is by far the most comfortable and practical one I found (I also have a new native sling, which is great for shorter times). The Ergo is comfortable for both me and both kids! The 2 year old will sit in it on my back, happy as can be. The 7 week old sleeps like a rock in it. I love the pocket on the front for wallet and keys and a burp cloth for quick errands. The sunshade/hood works wonderfully for covering and supporting our little one. It does require a certain flexibility to buckle the chest strap behind the neck in the front carry position, and also to loosen the shoulder straps. It is quite adjustable so both my husband and I can use it comfortably. I would definitely recommend it (in fact, my sister just got one for her 6 month old), but I do recommend trying it carefully with the baby/kids before deciding to keep it/buy it.

Cyn from Bern, Switzerland March 1st, 2009 Good product, but very difficult to get my 1 year old on my back by myself...especially when she's fussy. Wish I could have someone come over and show me how to do it! The videos aren't enough.

Ergo Lover from Los Angeles, CA February 13th, 2009 I love my Ergo and my baby does too. I have a four month old and she loves riding in the Ergo. I've worn the Ergo during Mommy and Me dance classes and my baby feels very secure in it. She even falls asleep despite loud music and jumping around.
I highly recommend it!

Ian's MaMa from Overland Park, KS October 14th, 2008 This baby carrier rocks! Have used many others and by far this one is the best. Have had the carrier for 6 months, my son is 13 months and we both love it!! Cant say enough about this carrier!

Tracie October 7th, 2008 My husband loves this carrier. He tried several different types of slings and carriers in a boutique baby store before we bought this one, and he found this one the easiest and what he called 'idiot proof' to use. I have found it very comfortable as well. We also like the newborn insert so you can use it sooner than the bjorn and longer since the weight limit is higher.

Caren from Round Rock, TX August 28th, 2008 I got the ERGO in Cranberry, and I love it. I work on my feet all day and I like to bring my baby to work with me when I can. I put her in the ERGO and I can work hands free while she naps on my back. It is comfortable and secure. It's been over a week and I am not sore at all.

R Traish from Fairfax, VA August 1st, 2008 We purchased the baby carrier at the recommendation of a local baby boutique shop owner. It is very difficult to adjust and put the baby in especially by myself. You cannot position the baby facing forward when the baby is on your chest and mine has to be able to see out at what all is going on. Once it is in place and adjusted correctly it is comfortable but all in all we were very disappointed.

Colleen July 30th, 2008 I love this carrier and so does my 5-month-old baby. I especially love the hood feature; it allows him to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer. It is very convenient and comfortable. I wore it through two airports without any discomfort. It is easy to put on and slip your baby into comfortably. I have a Moby wrap, which I love, but it can be awkward to put on in public places like parking lots, stores, airports, etc. The Ergo has made errand-running and traveling much easier! My only suggestion would be a carrier that could also allow the baby to face forward. Other than that, this is a wonderful carrier! Well worth the money.

J July 25th, 2008 I purchased the ERGO carrier because my little boy had outgrown the Baby Bjorn. The carrier was a big disappointment. It was made very well, however, it was extremely hard to put the baby in by myself. I am sure with a little more practice, I could have got the hang of it, but it was definitely hard to put him in there by myself.

Kealani from Kihei, HI July 16th, 2008 I had purchased a Baby Bjorn Air Carrier before my daughter was born. I chose the Air Carrier because I live in Hawaii, where we always have 80 degree temperatures. It worked out well in the beginning, but we noticed that long periods of wearing the carrier really strained our shoulders and back. Now that my daughter is 15 pounds, the carrier is unbearable to wear. I couldn't turn my head to the right for a week, because of the strain that it caused! So after seeing my friends with their Ergo baby carriers, decided to make the purchase. All I can say is that I wished that I had bought it back when my baby was first born! And now, it is wonderful to be able to wear her on my back while I make dinner, without her hands getting into it, especially when she refuses to be anywhere but ON me! The heat created between our skin sometimes creates an issue, but is quickly solved with a cool pack wrapped in a towel, placed between us! The sleeping/sun/rain/privacy hood is also a fantastic feature the others do not offer. Love it, and definitely recommend it!

Amy from Oxford, MS July 16th, 2008 I had a baby bjorn carrier and my back would start to hurt very quickly. Now with my Ergo carrier, I can carry my daughter for hours and not get tired. The neatest part is my daughter, five months, is instantly calmed when she goes into the carrier. We both enjoy this carrier.

Brenda from APO AP July 10th, 2008 Highly Highly recommended!!! With 3 children ages 8 to 1, owning several carriers including Snuglie front pack, Baby Bjorn, Nojo sling, Maya wrap, Evenflo trailtech (old model and new model), and Premaxx sling type carrier, this is the best thing I have EVER bought! I wish I would have been able to get one when my 8 yr old was a baby!!! Not only is it the most comfortable carrier I have ever worn, it doesnt make my back hurt- and I have arthritis all the way down my back. If I get a bit strained after awhile, I can easily switch him to another position. Not only can I carry my 1 yr old with no problems, I can carry my 2 yr old in it and my back is still great. It is so versatile, from infant to toddler to 40lbs. My sons legs dont get their circulation cut off (which it can in other carriers) his head is supported with the help of that neat little pack away cover. I have told so many Moms and soon-to-be Moms about this Ergo... Almost all Moms agree, that for some reason we cant explain, this is just THE BEST, most COMFORTABLE, STRESS-FREE carrier ever made. One little side note which event he makers say: It does take a couple times to get used to it because it is a bit different. But different is just that- but an absolutely wonderful difference!

judy from pasadena, md May 21st, 2008 I bought this carrier to tote around my 8 month old son. Come to find out, my 2 year old likes it too. This is the most comfortable yet sturdy carrier I've ever used. The mei tai always felt like the baby could slip out. The bjorn was very restrictive and I didn't like how baby dangled in it. I love the versatility of this carrier as well. front, back, hip carry.. Great product!

A.Valdez from texas April 18th, 2008 I bought the ergo baby carrier and infant insert for my daughter, who has a one month old baby. She absolutely loves it. She is able to move around the house and do most of her housework. I think the baby loves it too being so close to mom. My daughter says it is easier on her back and loves to take it when she goes shopping. It's well made and very easy to use. For me being a grandma, the ergo carrier was one of the best investments we made.

Jessica from TX March 28th, 2008 I am a petite mom with a very healthy (read BIG) baby boy and I have struggled to find a carrier that fits comfortably and doesn't give me a backache, shoulder ache or any other aches. I tried slings and other name brand carriers that all were difficult to put on and gave me terrible upper and lower backaches. This carrier is wonderful...the answer to my prayers. I can get it on with my son in a front carry very quickly and easily. It does take some effort to get him switched to a back carry but surely it will get easier with more practice. There is also a hip carry option which I have tried a few times but we still work well together in a front carry. I have absolutely NO pain while carrying my son for extended periods and NO pain when I take it off. My son weighs about 25lbs and I am almost 100lbs...I couldn't live without this carrier. He walks now but we still use the Ergo Carrier several times a week during shopping trips and we both are comfortable while using it. I truly cannot say enough about this carrier...it costs less than some of the others that don't work nearly as well.

T from Connecticut January 31st, 2008 I absolutely LOVE my Ergo! My daughter is 16 months and I still use my Ergo every day (use instead of a stroller or a grocery cart seat and often as a way to calm down before bed). The carrier is very well constructed and easy to use although it takes some practice getting the child on your back. I am a petite person and have no trouble carrying my daughter. I plan on carrying her as long as she is compliant!
My daughter doesn't chew on the straps much anymore, but I wish I had known about the sucking pads several months ago. The attachable back pack also looks like a great addition, which I hope to check out.
