Submitted By: Mom from VA   Date: 11/10/2008 I really wanted these to work. I read all the positive reviews and bought 6 packages. I have yet to find a door or drawer they will work on. The reach is too short to allow a finger to get in under the overhang of a counter top or even the drawer above. I'm still wondering how the others made them work. I don't think our cabinets are all that unusual, they are relatively new with fairly thick faces. If the reach on the latch was just a bit longer I think these would work like a charm.

Submitted By: mom in chicago   Date: 10/01/2008 These are by far the best safety latches. I wasted a ton of money on other brands which did not work well. I wound up taking them all off and replacing them with these. They are easy to install and are to difficult for the little ones to open.

I had used these for my son (now 16 years old) and liked them. I couldn't locate them in the stores when we were buying baby-proofing items for my daughter (now 16 months). The previous ones were more difficult to install and she was actually able to open some of them. I came across an old one, we loved it. My husband said they were much easier to install, we both find them easier to use, and my daughter hasn't figured them out yet. So on-line searching we went and stocked up. The two piece units have to be lined up just right or they don't work very well and the exterior ones are either useless (if the cabinet knobs are not the right distance apart) or difficult to open and close but these are perfect for drawers and cabinets!
