Protect Your Child from the Dangers of Window Coverings
This October the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has teamed up with the Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) to spread awareness on the dangers of window cords. According to the CSPC, “about once a month a young child dies from a window cord strangulation.” Therefore, they have dedicated the month of October to urge parents to inspect their homes for exposed/dangling cords, even if the cord is located on the side or back of the covering.
CPSC suggests using cordless windows when young children live in the home. However, if investing in new window coverings is too expensive, you can contact the WCSC at 800-506-4636 or visit www.windowcoverings.org for a free kit to make them safer.
Protect your little one(s) and spread the awareness!
