Maxi-Cosi Priori Convertible Car Seat

With contemporary color schemes and a streamlined design, the Maxi-Cosi Priori is one stunning car seat. But more importantly, the Priori offers innovation, safety, and comfort to match its eye-catching style.

The Maxi-Cosi Priori convertible car seat can be used as a rear-facing car seat from 5 to 35 pounds and a forward-facing seat from 22 to 40 pounds. The Priori is one of only a handful of car seats that offers this extended rear-facing weight limit--most convertible seats only support 30 to 33 pounds. If you're looking for a convertible car seat that will keep your kiddo rear facing for as long as possible, the Priori would be an excellent pick.

The Maxi-Cosi Priori adheres to the most up-to-date industry recommendations in safety standards, with features such as energy absorbing EPP foam, LATCH installation, and a five-point harness with up front harness adjustment. If your little one tends to nap in the car (or you wish he would!), the Priori's unique independent recline system lets you adjust the recline while your child is seated, without unharnessing or waking your child. This nifty feature allows you to choose from 4 recline positions, helping to ensure a cozy ride and a content passenger. Plus, the handy harness holders keep the harness straps out of the way to ease boarding.

Clever, parent-friendly features like these, coupled with sleek European styling, make the Maxi-Cosi Priori a top-notch car seat that's sure to please.

This seat is amazing and our tall daughter appears to love it as well. The tilt feature seems to be super comfortable and the harness is great. Installation/switching cars is super easy as well. Highly recommend.

We have 3 children and each child is in a different seat. Our oldest is in the Rodi, then our middle is in the Priori and our baby is in the Mico, and we love all three seats. Maxi Cosi makes the best seats. We read tons of reviews on all three seats and there were people that said the Mico was hard to get in and out, we have never had any trouble. Our kids are growing well with these seats, our son was 16 months when we got the Priori and he just turned two and we still haven't had to adujust the belts!! They clean wonderfully and they are just cute looking to boot!!! We will never buy anything but Maxi Cosi again!!

Maxi Cosi Priori car seat should be one car seat you buy when your baby is born and have until they are four years of age.

We love this seat! My daughter just transitioned from her infant seat easily with this maxi cosi. She loves it! The reclining feature is key for any baby who sleeps in the car...she just lays back and her head rests perfectly on the side wing. The seat feels very comfy to the touch, the fabric is breathable, and it is not bulky. With the seat reclined, it was very easy to install. Great features and quality. well worth the price tag!

We ordered the convertible maxi cosi because our four month old appeared very crunched in the infant peg perego. She is big baby who already weighs 17 lbs and is 26.5 inches long. We ordered it because we were leaving on a long road trip and wanted to make sure she was comfortable sitting in the car seat for long periods of time. I can report without hestitation that it was much more comfortable for her. The fabric is very soft. The buckle is hard to release as others have noted but we figured out that if you use both hands to compress the release button then the clips falls out but you can't release it with one hand alone. It is a small price to pay for comfort. It was also easier to install then other reviews had indicated.

I have had this seat for about 2 weeks and so far so good. I was a little surprised by the color. It is a very dark green(thought it was black or brown) with the orange sides and teal strap covers. It doesn't bother me, but just not what it looks like online and no where could I find a description that included the color. It is definetly allot smaller than the Britax seats, which is good for me as I have petite child anyway.

The Priori is a convenient, comfortable, easy-to-use car seat...We originally purchased the mico which we also love, but I have to say the priori is easier to manage and get the baby in and out of. It is reclined enough for them to fall asleep comfortably but also at enough of an upright angle for them to what is going on around them. We love the fun colors and great design and would definitely recommend this product!

We hadn't heard of MaxiCosi until we were at babyearth. The sales person told us it was a best seller so we were curious. I was thrilled to see the fun bright colors that weren't pink - we have a boy. The safety features are exactly what we needed and the installation was rather easy. Our kiddo can face rear for longer due to its extended weight capacity. That's a huge bonus for us. Great company, great car seat.

Logan's mom from Florida       5 of 5 Stars!       June 2nd, 2008
We purchased this car seat for our 2nd car. It seems to be working great, though my husband has used it more than me. He seems happy with it. It was a little harder to tighten down the latch belt than our other car seat, but once installed it has been fine. We're a little spoiled with or other car seat, the Combi Zeus, that pivots 360 degrees, but this one is just a nice & comfortable. Just a little harder to put our 1 year old in. Especially, if he puts up a struggle. It has nice strap holders that keep the straps out of the way while you're trying to get the baby in. He looks very comfortable while he sleeps. We would recommend this car seat.

Sundeep from Hercules, CA       5 of 5 Stars!       May 5th, 2008
pros:

Comfortable, easy to recline, Seat secures safely with all the attachments and does not move/get loose after repeated use. I have been using this for 2 months now. Its a breeze getting my son in and out of the seat. I have SUV and seat is installed in the middle of second row seat. He is 14 months and weight 22 pounds now.

Cons:

hard to install, give yourself some time to install before heading out with the baby in it - it may need some fine tuning.

Maxi-Cosi Priori Convertible Car Seat

Long-favored in Europe for their safety, style, and economy, Maxi-Cosi child safety seats are finally available in the U.S. The Maxi-Cosi Priori is a convertible car seat, meaning it can be installed facing rear for newborns and infants and then convert to a forward-facing seat to accommodate older babies. The Priori is loaded with smart, parent-friendly features that make it a force to be reckoned with in the convertible car seat market.

Safety experts recommend infants stay in rear-facing car seats at least until the child is one year old. However, most rear-facing only seats have lower maximum weight thresholds, usually 20 or 22 pounds, which many children surpass long before their first birthday. In the rear-facing position, the Maxi-Cosi Priori holds babies from five to 35 pounds and 19 to 36 inches tall. The Priori is one of a handful of car seats that offers this extended rear-facing weight limit - most convertible seats only support 30 to 33 pounds. The Priori's extra weight rating could add several months to the time that your little one spends facing rearward, which means enhanced safety for him and more peace of mind for you.

In the forward-facing position, the Maxi-Cosi Priori convertible car seat can support 22 to 40 pounds and 34 to 43 inches tall. The Priori offers a few extra inches than most comparable seats to allow plenty of room for your child to grow. Because of its extended size allowance, the Maxi-Cosi Priori is a great choice for parents of babies who have outgrown their infant rear-facing only seats but are still too young to move to a forward-facing seat. Or, if you prefer to avoid purchasing two seats, the Priori is a safe and economical option to accommodate most children from birth to 40 pounds, or approximately 4 years old.

In addition to the extra growing room for your baby, another feature that sets the Maxi-Cosi Priori apart from the competition is its trademarked Independent Recline System, which allows parents to easily adjust the seat to four recline positions while the seat is installed - and even while child is in the seat. For babies who tend to snooze in the car, the Priori's Independent Recline System adds extra comfort and helps alleviate the infamous "car seat head bob" that makes moms cringe. The Priori also features a sturdy, five-point harness with convenient up-front harness adjustment, as well as five harness heights for a perfect fit as your kiddo grows. For added convenience, the Maxi-Cosi Priori includes harness holders to keep the harness to the side while placing the baby in the car seat, making boarding less stressful on the parent and child.

The Maxi-Cosi Priori car seat is compatible with lap belt and shoulder belt harnesses as well as the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) anchoring system that accompanies most vehicles made after 2003 and a few models made in 2000 to 2002. If you do not have the LATCH anchoring system or if you'll be using the car seat in an older model automobile without self-locking safety belts, the Maxi-Cosi Priori includes a locking clip that will enable you to tightly secure the vehicle's seat belt. The locking clip is conveniently stored in the seat's recline foot. To ensure a level installation in your vehicle, the Priori includes a colored level indicator as a guide. In keeping with safety recommendations, the Priori comes with a tether strap to securely anchor the seat while in the front-facing mode.

Maxi-Cosi Priori car seats are equipped with energy-absorbing EPP foam that cushions and protects the passenger for a safe and comfortable ride. The Priori's plush seat fabric is removable and washable, as are the matching buckle pad and soft harness covers that protect baby's sensitive skin from irritation or pinching.

When it comes to style, Maxi-Cosi is the definition of modern European chic, and the Priori is easily one of the most attractive convertible car seats on the market. The Priori comes in seven eye-catching designs: Indian Spice, Penguin, Night Owl, Gipsy, Navy Reflection, Corniche, and Tan Tech.

For those parents who plan to travel by air with their child, the Maxi-Cosi Priori car seat is approved for aircraft use, meaning you can secure the Priori into an aircraft seat to keep your baby safe and your hands and lap free. Of course, always check with your airline for any size requirements or other regulations regarding child seats.

With European style and parent-friendly engineering, the Maxi-Cosi Priori convertible car seat is sure to become a best seller in the states. BabyEarth.com carries the Maxi-Cosi Priori in all seven vibrant color schemes.
