I need to change this once a month, as it turns yellow upon sterilizing in sterilizer. But this is much more comfortable to use compared to personalfit breastshield.
I have bought more than 5 pairs of this. Need to change this every month, as it turns yellow after some time.
I was using thoese hard shields that came with hospital pump when my baby was in NICU. It was quite uncomfortable to pump 6-8 times a day with the hard shields. I switched to Medela pumps with soft shields and it was painless!!!
I love this! Its massaging effect make pumping more comfortable. I need to replace this every month.
My nipples were killing me and so I thought I'd try this breast shield instead of the hard plastic ones that came with the pump. I'm not sure if I just wasn't using them properly or what, but I ended up with circular blisters on my breasts after just one day of pumping with these. So now my nipples are still super tender and I've got blisters on my breasts. Oh the joys of breastfeeding...
I initially expressed milk with a hospital-grade pump with hard plastic shields, but then tried this Medela model. I think the soft shield is more comfortable and more effective. The only downside is that the soft-shield seems more fragile (it dented in with time and use.) Great product, though.
Out of all the Medela breastshields, the SoftFit is the better one. However, it wears out with frequent use and needs to be replaced. The plastic between the tunnel and shield starts to peel.
