These work well, going right into the same hole that the old spring type door jamb used. They aren't all that soft, so if your door is very soft wood, slamming the door into it might leave a mark. I haven't tried it, but it is a tad harder than the rubber tip on the older spring type jamb.

We bought these because when our baby started crawling he was very interested in the spring-style door stops we had. Unfortunately, he was either taking the white cap off (choking hazard!) or getting his finger pinched in the spring. These door stops look nice and screw in easily to the holes left by the old stoppers.
