Rachel November 14th, 2009 I *hoped* to get a bowl my son could use to practice feeding himself, and thought a suction-bottom bowl would be helpful since it would stay put. I'm not sure if the theory is practical! My son thinks the bowl looks like a fun new toy, and who can blame him?! He doesn't try to get the food out so much as try to figure out the bowl...
The lids are REALLY hard to get on. I read that in a review elsewhere, but was surprised at just how hard it actually is. I doubted I'd get the lid on one of the bowls, and am not looking forward to trying to pry it off, honestly. I'm a strong-handed person, btw.
Also, as is the way of suction cups, they don't stick forever. I noticed a few minutes after sticking one bowl on a surface that it had spontaneously "let go." If you bump the gasket around the bottom of the bowl, it pops free easily - which is both good and bad.
I don't know how these bowls compare to similar products, but I suspect that they are about the same, maybe a little better than the others.
