Submitted By: Janet from Ferndale, WA   Date: 09/03/2008 After much research, we settled on this gate to separate our front door/stair area from the living room. The hardware is a little light weight; we bought longer screws to more securely attach it to the wall. The gate latches by hooking to two eye bolts. We attached a board to the wall then put the eye bolts on it, thinking they might otherwise pull out of the sheet rock with repeated use. Our 8 and 10 year old have a bit if difficulty closing the gate, but I think they'll get better with practice. All the other choices, though, had plastic hinges and latches and we felt they wouldn't hold up over time. Overall, the gate isn't great, but I think it's the best option available and will suffice.
