Offi

In 1997, Offi and Company was launched out of the artistic community of Corning, New York, by a group of people dedicated to form, function, and great design. With a focus on practical solutions for the modern urban lifestyle, Offi and Company has expanded over time to include a cadre of independent, innovative designers, each bringing his or her own unique perspective to the company's many creations.

As its product lines have grown and changed, Offi and several of its contributors have won many prestigious awards for their fresh takes on modern design. The company moved its headquarters from New York to Tiburon, California, recently to open a showroom highlighting many of its pieces and accomplishments.

OFFI and Company's kids' line started out of a desire to provide simple solutions to the typical urban family with limited space and time. It now includes everything from lamps to toys to furniture, all with fun, creative approaches to learning, utility, and design.

The company's MyPetLamp is one of its more popular kid-friendly products. Created by Hong Kong's famed Megasii Design Group, the lamp comes in a number of different colors and animal shapes, and arrives with a special washable marker that lets children add their own design flair. It's sure to be a big hit with customers, critics, and kids in 2009.

Renowned New York City designer Karim Rashid has contributed his two cents in the form of the fun and funky Kapsule Chair. This sturdy, colorful alternative to a traditional wooden kid-sized chair offers under-seat storage and a washable surface for use either indoors or out. It was featured on MSNBC and in Better Homes and Gardens, and won a 2002 Industrial Design Excellence Award for its distinctive look and utility.

OFFI's product line includes a number of other kid-sized chairs and tables, including the unique EVA Foam table and chair set. Designed by Lawrence and Sharon Tarantino of New Jersey's Tarantino Studio, this set is cut from soft, sturdy Ethylene Vinyl Acetate foam to offer a comfortable, durable, functional work and play space for your child. Don't let the softness fool you - the table can support up to 300 pounds!

If your kid likes to rock, Offi's Baltic Rocking Horse will offer traditional support, or maybe the simple lines and fun self-assembly construction of designer Jennifer Carpenter's Rock It chair are more your tune. Both are fun, playful options to keep your little rider entertained for hours.

OFFI's furniture options for kids include the modern Bebe changing station, five-drawer dresser, and high cabinet, or take a look at the beautiful Baltic birch of Eric Pfeiffer's full and twin Kip platform beds.
