I bought this for my one year old granddaughter. She enthusiastically started playing it immediately once we showed her how. She laughs and gets excited with the toy whenever she plays with it. It is so well made and colorful but it falls flat with the sound! Since it's all wood you don't hear the typical metal xylophone tones. I gave it four stars because it is so well designed and crafted, and my granddaughter loves it! (I also bought the drum for her and that has a lovely sound.)

I just received this xylophone and am totally disappointed. I was so looking forward to entertaining baby with some sound. Well, baby frowned when I started tapping on the colorful wooden pieces....

Frankly, the sound is just horrid. It's just a mishmash of discordant notes, so if you are expecting a real xylophone with a clear tone, or something one can actually play a tune (or scales) on, this is not the product for you.

However, the item is really lovely and a beautiful wooden piece of workmanship, so I give it 2 stars for quality.
