valeri February 18th, 2010 i wanted to have one of these when my son was a newborn, though they were out of stock, nearly everywhere right before and after his birth. i actually didn't get one until he was nearly six months old and i was worried that'd be too big or i wouldn't get any use out of it, but at the price offered on babyearth's gaga deal, i figured i didn't have much to lose. i'm so glad i got it! my baby was chubby, nearly 20 lbs., and could already sit unassisted when it arrived but he still fit in comfortably and he loved it! it made bathing him and my toddler so much easier because i could set the baby in the washpod, then put it in the tub as my three year old bathed. the baby was safe and secure and had his little place to splash around while being protected from his big brother's splashes! i would of course be sitting right on the ledge of the tub, but it was easier on my back than having the baby in the big tub with his brother. i also loved how little water i needed to use and how it really did keep my son warm. he did start to stand up early (around 7 months) and once he figured out that he could stand up in the washpod, it made me a little nervous...it seems stable and i love the wide base not offered on the more expensive european brands, but i felt he was, at that point, ready to sit in the big tub since he'd pull himself up constantly. i would definitely recommend this and it makes a unique babyshower gift.
