VerofromHesperia, CA January 4th, 2011 I got the lady bug wheely for my daughter right before she turned one. She was starting to take her first steps then and I thought, this might be a good aid.
We purchased the small size and upon opening it, I thought, wow, this is really SMALL. When put beside a 1 yo, it was perfect. The wheely has those small black appliance like wheels which for a beginner walker on the carpet worked out great. Using the wheely on the kitchen tile, was another story however. Now, my daughter is 2 and she still uses her whelly all the time. This time, now she takes it outdoors and rides it down the small decline our driveway has.
My older 6 yo also loves my daughters wheely. I've contemplated buying him one bc he's always trying to ride it even though he's clearly too big for it (and regardless of this, it handles his weight just fine). It's made of very sturdy hard wood at the bottom and the body is of some sort of lightly padded vinyl. Earlier last yr, I accidentally dropped the wheely on the hard floor and one of the wheels broke off. I thought the wheely was ruined but my husband went to the hardwood store, bought the same little wheels and replaced it- no problems for about $7 bucks.
Since this little guy has been a success in my home, I've now bought one for my 1 yo nephew.
Enjoy!
carolfrombellevue, WA August 4th, 2010 the quality of wheely is much better than i thought, nicely furnished and very sturdy. Altho it's too early for my one year old as for now, he would still push his wheely around while crawling, i can't wait to see how he is gonna like his wheely even more in the coming months.
carole Steinfrommiami June 24th, 2010 This toy is so cute and easy to use. My triplet grandchildren (boys) love it. Great inside our condo and outside on the boardwalk.
togoafrica April 13th, 2010 This was a first birthday gift from a grandmother and from the moment we pulled out of the box, our daughter couldn't get enough of it! She is not quite walking yet, so this is a great 'tool' to help her get around the house. She just stands up and walks herself around using the handle on the front. We haven't quite figured out how to sit and ride it, but it all works none the less.
In addition to the entertainment value, the actual product is really well made. The seat is a soft leather and the wooden base that looks like it can take the beatings of my toddler.
This is a great addition to our toy aresenal!
Kate April 8th, 2010 I purchased the small cow wheely bug as a gift for a two year old and it was too small! I recommend buying the larger one because they will grow out of the small one too fast. It was a big hit and he got the hang of how to use it right away. Great gift! Hit of the party!
Jessica January 19th, 2010 My son loves riding on this toy - the size is perfect.
grammiefromwest suffield, ct. November 21st, 2009 I thought, after reading your reviews, my walking, running lyr old grandson would enjoy this. Little too fast for him now. maybe in a few months we'll take it out again.
Leah fromMemphis.TN September 23rd, 2009 My baby just turned 2, and we received the wheely bug when she was a year and a half and I must say it has been a hit EVERYDAY! We love this bug so much and it is very entertaining. It is very well put together and it also doesn't leave scuff marks on your base boards. Ours still looks brand new. The only cons that I can think are that your baby needs to be strong enough to handle it. When we first got it, Ava slipped off of it and hit her chin on the handle which made her bite her lip. Just make sure your baby has well enough motor skills to not fall off. But overall, it is definately a winner in my book!Great gift. We have taken it tailgating and to outdoor parties and receive numerous compliments on it:)
HilaryfromTexas September 15th, 2009 This wheely bug has been a fun toy for our daughter for nearly a year now...we gave it to her for her first birthday and we could push her on it, now by almost age 2, she loves to wheel around the house with her own two feet.
Danafromflorida September 15th, 2009 I purchased the Wheely Bug as a gift. It was really unique and very impression.
I haven't received feedback from our friend who just turned one. 'Looking forward to her 'wheeling' around the neighborhood.
HarrietfromFanwood, NJ July 21st, 2009 We recently purchased the ladybug wheely bug for our one year old niece. She's smaller than average so the small size was perfect. The wheely bug is really cute, very different to the usual ride on toys and is well made. A really good purchase.
Yvette Coppedge July 8th, 2009 We love the wheely bug. I give it as a gift all the time.
Robin April 22nd, 2009 Very cute in person. Good quality. Rolls very smoothly!!
DfromRound Rock, Texas January 5th, 2009 My son is 16 months old and got the small Wheely Bee for Christmas. Although he's not tall enough to scoot around quite yet (almost there) he loves pushing his Wheely Bee really fast throughout the house. My 4 yr old niece has a great time on it as well, although she would fit better on the bigger Wheely. This is a great quality toy.
LorafromColumbus, OH September 22nd, 2008 I purchased this for my niece for her 1st birthday. I had read online reviews, saw the awards it received and was very excited to get it. The price at Baby Earth was right on and even better as I didn't have to pay shipping. I was not disappointed when it arrived. It is absolutely adorable (we got the bumble bee) and I can't wait to see her open and play with it! Although I see what some of the other reviews have said about sizing, this will be perfect because she just began walking and has a brother or sister on the way come February...so any bigger and it wouldn't be useful to her now.
Meredith KorafromCalera, AL May 30th, 2008 I bought this toy for my 2 year old little girl and it fits her perfectly. Even her older 4 year old brother loves it although he is a little too big for the small one. If your child runs on the tall or large side I would get the larger size, but if your child is small for their age I would stick with the manufacturer's age range when picking which size to order. The wheely bug is super cute and it is sure to keep your little one or even bigger toddlers busy for hours. The best thing about it is that the wheels swivel in all directions so that it doesn't get stuck in corners like most other ride-on toys do. The wheely bug is very durable as well, so even with the roughest kids it will last and last. We bought this for my little girl who has low muscle tone in her ankles (or a very mild version of cerebral palsy) and it is great for strengthening and helping her to learn to walk better as well as building up her stamina. This is a must have toy!!! Go and order one now, I promise you won't regret it!!!
Jacklyn Rogan February 23rd, 2007 Wheely bug is a fun, unique toy and alternative to the ride-on cars out there. This small one is definitely small; probably a great, unique gift for ~ 1 1/2 year old. Kind of wish we'd gotten the large so it would last longer.
Wheely Fun!!
