Sealy Soybean Foam-Core Crib Mattress

We've had our mattress for a few weeks now and I like it. What I like the most is that it doesn't have any of the nasty chemicals most mattresses have in them to make them fire retardant. Its firm, but not rock hard. I like how the corners are square and not slightly rounded. I also like the price a whole lot better than the other organic mattresses that are hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

The seams are done poorly. One of the seams on the first mattress we received was coming undone. Babyearth was great and handled the exchange with the manufacture.

By the way, even though the mattress is advertised for the soy based foam, keep in mind that the vast majority of the materials (including the majority of the foam) is made from petroleum products.

I wish we had just splurged for an organic mattress.

This mattress was purchased for a much anticipated grand baby! The mattress fits well in the crib and appears to be of good quality. It hasn't been tried out.....two months to go.

We purchased this mattress because we were looking for something free of petrochemicals and VOCs. Admittedly, we didn't do enough research because we were in a hurry (our baby arrived early). But the mattress arrived reeking of plastic, and the contents tag on the back says it's composed of polyester, cotton, and polyeurathane foam. Although the advertising tag on the front states that it's made from soybeans, I'm not sure where the soybeans really come in -- I have a bad feeling that this is a marketing ploy.

Haven't used the mattress yet but it appears to be well constructed and fits snugly in the crib. Glad to see it's chemical free and made from renewable resources.

We haven't had much of a chance to test our Sealy Soybean Foam mattress yet, but I'm impressed with it so far. I'm glad it doesn't have harmful chemicals, and it is a very snug fit in our Da Vinci Emily crib. It's firm and light, making for easy changes.
