Let me preface this review by saying that we LOVE our Stokke Xplory. It has been one of the best purchases we made for our baby. However, it is the WORST stroller in the world to travel with and this bag only makes it worse.

We purchased this bag prior to our last trip. Upon receiving it we had some concerns so I went to the Container Store to purchase some bubble wrap as extra protection. The thought was good but that extra step just caused us more headaches trying to haul it through the airport and security.

This is basically a huge black duffel bag. The bag is VERY flimsy and, more importantly, doesn't fit the stroller properly. The picture shown is misleading as it appears to fit snug inside the bag. The reality is that there is a significant amount of extra room and there is really no way to securely insert the chassis and seat/bassinet. We tried to see if Stokke offered a suggestion on the proper way to pack the stroller inside the travel bag and they do not have anything published. Another concern is the lack of padding on the bag. Other than a small section of padding on the top near the handle there isn't any other padding (hence the reason we bought bubble wrap) on 95% of the bag.

We gate checked this item on each leg of our trip. The top plastic cover was ripped on the first leg (non-stop) of the trip and one of the seams at the bottom of the bag was almost ripped. On our way home there were two holes on the bottom of the bag because the plastic piece where you put the wheels doesn't actually cover the entire bottom of the bag.

For a $1200+ investment in the stroller/accessories, Stokke really dropped the ball on designing a travel bag to protect the investment in their product. We are actually asking for a refund due to such poor construction.

We bought the Stokke bag for our Peg Perego Skate stroller base and bassinet and it fits like a glove! Good thing because Skate doesn't make a bag at all. Not only does the metal stroller base fit in this bag, but the metal base with the bassinet still attached and collapsed fits in there. We were able to gate check both the stroller and bassinet and carry on our car seat. What a great relief. One warning: it's super heavy to roll, but that's no fault of the bag's, just a heavy stroller base, I guess. My only con is the price, but there are no alternatives, so what are you gonna do?

This bag is great for gate check; suggest not to check otherwise as it is not very protective. Comes with a convenient strapped carry pouch and a place inside to store the pouch. (Be careful- we easily left our carry pouch behind :(.) Keep in mind bag is HUGE! Also has smooth wheels which made it a breeze to pull stroller around. We LOVE our Xplory, but find that traveling with it- even with this bag is cumbersome a best. Decide for yourself and good luck!

This bag is not suitable for air travel as it is not rigid and has very little padding. I purchased this and used it when I gate checked my stroller (I bubble wrapped the plastic adjustment levers for extra protection). The stroller arrived without damage but I would never check the stroller in this bag - unfortunately the stroller is just too delicate (in particular the "arm" that holds the chair or bassinet - this does not collapse or detach so it sticks up in the air and is quite at risk of being damaged). Attaching the chair once the stroller is collapsed protects the "arm" but the stroller then takes up more space. The wheels on the bag are useful and the handles are large and the velcro strap is sturdy. I hope I will use it more in non-air travel situations. Based on the quality I feel that it is really overpriced but probably the only bag that is large enough to fit the Xplory.
