Diane from Saginaw, MI September 1st, 2010 My 6-mo-old granddaughter LOVES gnawing on this little giraffe when her gums are bothering her. I tell my son to NEVER leave it behind when they bring her over for me to babysit. It's always her favorite teething toy when her gums are hurting. It comforts her so much.

Heather from Chesapeake, VA August 10th, 2010 I read all the reviews on this and it's so true, this is definitely my 6 month old sons most favorite toy! He cries when we take it away. He loves chewing on the giraffe. It has helped wonderfully during his teething. I would definitely recommened these to anyone with babies.

Shirlyn July 27th, 2010 High priced dog toy, Yes..could be...but baby's love it. I've got four little grandsons and it has been their first love.

Janet from Santa Cruz CA July 13th, 2010 Everyone says this is a good toy for babies, especially when they are teething. Now, I am a fan, too. Natural rubber, lots of legs to hold on to, cute spots and face to look at, a silly little squeak, and almost 50 years of history--all add up to a quality toy I feel good about giving to my daughter.

jen b July 8th, 2010 We have purchased about 6 of these in the last 2 months for gifts...babies adore them and parents love them. The long neck makes the giraffe easy for the baby to hold, and when they are younger, the squeak is appealing. Parents love the fact that they are very natural and made in France (and not China). Definitely worth the price.

Elisabeth June 24th, 2010 My little girl loved Sophie from the moment she received her. Sophie is perfect for her little hands and at 7 months old, this is the only teether that she will chew on for longer than a few minutes. She doesn't have teeth yet so I'm excited to know that she loves Sophie better than any refrigerated teethers I've given her thus far.

Christy from Illinois June 21st, 2010 My 4 month old daughter LOVES the giraffe. It's very easy for her little fingers to hold and she giggles in delight when she can get the 'squeaky' noise going. Plus, when she gets excited and starts flinging her arms about, the giraffe doesn't hurt her head like some of the harder teething toys. All of my nieces/nephews (9 total) have had their own 'Sophie' and I am very happy my daughter has her own now. I will be purchasing more when her 'future siblings' come along because I know she will not want to share this with them.

Noellen June 2nd, 2010 my 3 month old son isn't really using this toy yet, but it's the first toy that's gotten his attention with a smile. i like that it's natural rubber - it doesn't stink much and is very soft.

Erin June 1st, 2010 My daughter has been getting her teeth in one after the other and was always trying to chew on anything within reach but never found just the right thing. Since I bought this she's had it with her all day long and chews on it constantly. There's a lot less fussing in the house now and if she's happy I'm happy. Would recommend it to anyone who's got a teething baby/toddler.

1stTimeMom May 26th, 2010 My daughter choked on one of the legs and began to turn blue. Do not put your baby's life at risk! Do your research...this has happened to many parents!

Gina May 5th, 2010 My daughter will chew on anything! Especially plastic which I was worried about. She is 7 months old and loves Sophie! It is totally worth the price.

AS April 28th, 2010 My baby loves Sophie, and so do all the new babies I've met through playgroups. This has been a staple baby shower gift for all my new prego friends.

Christine from Washington, DC April 24th, 2010 This is one of the few things I think every new parent must have - it has been great for soothing my little one's gums and she just loves playing with it.
Everytime I meet another new mom who has Sophie, it is always the same gleeful, "we love our Sophie!!"

Marie April 19th, 2010 When I heard how people rave about this teether, I couldn't see the fuss but decided to give it a try. My daughter squealed with delight the first time she saw it (and every time since). We recently lost it and I immediately had to replace it.

Val from Denver, CO April 10th, 2010 I highly recommend the Giraffe! As it is from natural rubber, a very great design and size for our 3 month old to begin to hold/handle herself and it looks attractive to her (and us, too). A great decision... as so many other teether toys out there are so...scary-plastic, petroleum based made. This is A MUST HAVE for a clean/quality item for your baby.

Lisa from Loudonville, NY April 9th, 2010 I was indeed skeptical when the toy arrived because it smelled a bit "rubbery" and was afraid I purchased a cheap carnival quality toy.
So I washed it and gave it to my 6 month old baby girl who investigated it for a long time before attempting to put it in her mouth.
At this point she would make a face of displeasure everytime she touched it to her mouth. I believe the taste or feel or texture being so different from her other teethers was either going to make Sophie a waste of my money or a expensive dog toy.
Well, by the next day my baby girl was teething away on Sophies hoof, making Sophie squeak and smiling away at her. We take Sophie with us on all our outings because she is indeed a great soothing toy and always works great. This teething toy is like no other. I purchased another Sophie so we have one on boths levels of our home.

Janae from Utah April 2nd, 2010 We are asking ourselves, "where's sofie?" She is a great little toy, now with our daughter at 6months, she has started to squeak sofie herself. Beware of the dog, as they think the squeak is one of their toys! Great purchase.

Kate from Grove, OK. March 31st, 2010 I have a three mo. old grandchild and sent this Giraffe to him and he loves it. He can get his hands around the legs or neck and he really lights up. I would recommend this toy to anyone that wants to send a gift to a baby.

Bob Norton from Brooklyn, NY March 28th, 2010 When squeezed, it chirps. We asked our French friend about the this toy and he said he also had one over 30 years ago when he was a toddler. There is a reason for a toy to be popular for a long perioed of time.

Michelle from Chicago, IL March 16th, 2010 I have a four month old and he LOVES this teether.. I like it mostly because it's natural and not made in china. It's very hard to find toys and other baby products not made in china and Sophie comes from the French Alps.
Support small companies that make quality products that don't harm children... even if it cost a few dollars extra.

Donna from Longwood, FL February 23rd, 2010 I gave this toy 5 stars based on it's safe and child-friendly and environmentally friendly materials, and also on the experiences of other friends whose children just love this! My child is just 6 weeks old, but I was happy to have found a great clutching and teething toy for when he is at the stage to appreciate it.

J February 12th, 2010 I will admit it, I am EXTREMELY frugal. It is my obsession to save money and cut costs where I can. Ordinarily, I would not even THINK of paying $20 for a TEETHER!!!! If you are in that boat too, look at all the reviews . . . I was convinced the minute it arrived. I have no idea why this toy is an obsession in our home, but our 2 year old even thinks it is the best toy ever! I see squeaky toy . . . babies see their favorite toy. Again, I have no idea why it is such a hit, but who am I to question. Pay the $20 and you will never need to buy another teether . . . it is THAT good!

Eve from Texas February 11th, 2010 Every morning my daughter wakes up before we do. On the rare occasion we wake before she cries for us we are treated to the sound of her happily squeaking away with her Sophie. It seems to keep her busy for about a half an hour before she realizes that she's hungry.
She didn't take to it until somewhere in the 4-5 month range when she could pick it up and manipulate it herself, so if your baby is younger than that and just not interested, be patient.
The only down-side is that it looks and sounds a lot like a dog toy, so we have to be very vigilant at keeping it away from the floor. It's just a bit expensive for me to be okay with a dog shredding it.

Kristin from Austin, Tx February 2nd, 2010 This is the first toy that my son has played with and chewed on for more than 30 seconds! He is usually quickly bored and frustrated that he can't fit other teethers in his mouth but this giraffe works great! Long legs, ears, and horns all fit in his mouth and since it is food-grade paint and natural rubber we know he is safe too.

MK January 23rd, 2010 Very cute teether. I haven't yet tried it out but am comforted by the fact that it is made from natural ingredient. My only hesitation is that the squeaking noise is a but high pitched and I can see how it can get annoying.

Jessica January 19th, 2010 Sophie was our savior many times. My son just loved chewing on this toy. For whatever reason, the shape of the ears and legs are the most inviting for teething babies. This toy is a must have. We thought we lost ours once and ran out to get another. Having two "Sophies" is not a bad thing!

Melissa December 11th, 2009 I LOVED this toy for the first month that we had it. Then one day the squeaker stopped working properly. My son still loves to play and teethe on it, but I no longer get to see his big smile when it squeaks.

Stacie from Nebraska November 17th, 2009 Our daughter loves Sophie! She enjoys chewing on the hooves and snout. We're happy that we can provide her with a teether that is safe, as well as helpful to her sore little gums. This is a product that I recommend to others, and will purchase for friends who become new parents. Sophie is truly worth the extra money.

kelly October 23rd, 2009 My son is 4 months old and loves his new giraffe chew toy. I think he loves this one over all the rest because of the material- rubber. It is not too hard or too soft...just right. I would recommend this product.

Cristin from Oxford, MA September 15th, 2009 This is the best teething toy! My five month old son is instantly soothed when he hears his giraffe's squeak come out of the diaper bag. The feeling on his gums helps him deal with difficult teeth and the different shapes give him a variety of textures. The best part is that I don't have to worry about him chewing the paint off! I will be buying this toy for all my expecting friends!

Carmen Morrow from Ozark, MO August 23rd, 2009 This was exactly what I was looking for! My daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe. It's great for her to hold on to and there are many places for her to chew. Also she smiles when she makes it squeek. We take it everywhere.

Janice from Austin, TX July 16th, 2009 Sophie is amazing! My daughter is 6 months and loves this teething toy. It is so easy for her to hold herself and she loves chewing on all parts of this toy. $20 seems like a lot to spend on a teething toy, but this is worth every penny!
