The Fiver Party: The New Party Trend

A new birthday trend for parents is to host a "fiver party" for their child. In this style of birthday celebration, young friends are urged to bring five dollars to put toward one larger gift that the birthday boy or girl really wants. This means less stress and hassle for the parents, especially if their kid is getting invited to a lot of parties (and having to come up with a lot of presents).
According to Babyology, this kind of birthday party has a lot of benefits. Not only does it make life easier for parents, but it also helps kids to just enjoy spending time with their friends (which should be the point of a birthday party) rather than obsessing over what gifts they'll get.
To explain this to other parents if you're throwing a party for your child, just leave a note on the back of the invitation, explaining the procedure of a fiver party.
