UPDATE as of 4/12/19: Fisher Price recalls Rock 'n Play sleepers due to reports of deaths. Read the full recall report from the CPSC.
The Fisher Price Rock 'n Play sleeper is not recommended for infants 3 months and up, according to a new statement from the CPSC.
The Rock 'n Play by Fisher-Price has been linked to ten infant deaths in the past several years, and as recently as last month.
UPDATE: While Fisher Price continues to maintain the safety of its Rock 'n Play sleeper, doctors are now calling for an immediate recall of the product as of April 10, 2019.
While no recalls of the Rock 'n Play sleeper have been made, the CPSC released a statement along with Fisher-Price warning parents about the product. It appears infants have died after rolling out of the product.
Because deaths continue to occur, CPSC is recommending consumers stop use of the product by three months of age, or as soon as an infant exhibits rollover capabilities.
Even though Fisher-Price already warns parents to stop using the product once babies can roll over, some of the deaths prove that parents are not heeding that warning. It also appears many are not using the 3-point harness restraint that is part of the sleeper either.
Instead, consider a larger product like the Fisher Price by Hauck Sleep 'n Play once baby gets bigger.
