Congressmen and Congresswomen Bring Kids to Be Sworn In
When the 116th Congress was sworn, the event shed light on the positive changes in politics that have been made for parents. Members of Congress, accompanied by a record number of their children, attended the ceremony. With a significant increase of the number of women in the House, we are sure to see a more kid-friendly House floor.
While the focus has been on the women of Congress, it’s important to highlight the father’s who brought their children too. With all these littles on the House floor, there was no shortage of sweet cuddles, skipping, some storybook time and lots of smiles. It’s no secret these kids are taking great pride in their parent’s success and the opportunity to witness history. They even received some “Congress Kid” advice from veteran Congress Kids that included tips like, write I miss you notes and FaceTime to not be worried.
