Pregnant Woman Bikes to Give Birth

New Zealand leader and new mom proves "no doors are closed to women."

New Zealand minister Julie Anne Genter is making news after an Instagram post of hers went viral. 

Due to have labor induced at Auckland City Hospital, Ms. Genter made waves with her environmentally conscious Green Party by biking to the hospital to give birth to her first child. 

Julie Anne Genter is expected to become the second New Zealand government minister to deliver a baby this year, after Prime Minister Jacinda Arden. 

As former prime minister Helen Clark wrote in the Guardian, these women are not only mothers, but also leaders in their country; they are proof that "no doors are closed to women."
