Serena Williams' Daughter Won't Have a Birthday Party

and this is why...

...and the reason why is not what you may think.

Serena Williams' daughter, Alexis, turns one this weekend, so it may come as a surprise that she won't have a first birthday party.

Fans may have originally thought that was because Serena will be playing her sister, Venus, at the US Open. But the truth is, little Olympia will never have a birthday party because of religious beliefs.

In a press conference, Serena admitted she was a Jehovah's Witness and her faith does not believe in celebrating birthdays:

“We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses, so we don’t do that,” the 36-year-old tennis superstar told reporters at a U.S. Open press conference.

From the looks of Serena's Instagram account, this little girl is well-loved and surely not lacking for fun and adventure. Plus, she's likely to be busy cheering on her mom at the tennis Grand Slam through the weekend!
