How to Help Mom of 6 Killed in Apparent Murder-Suicide

She was desperately seeking freedom from abuse.

It's never easy to share stories like this, but especially hard when children are involved.

Kristin Gile, 33, of Kansas was fatally shot by her abusive husband Randy Gile II, 33. Court documents revealed Kristin had two protection from abuse orders against her husband, one of which was still in effect when she was murdered.

In a desperate attempt to free herself and her children, Kristin lived in women’s shelters, moved in with her parents and was undergoing an emergency divorce.

Kristin and her father reportedly went to her former home to pick up some belongings. Unaware that her husband had been released from jail, they were met with gunfire.

He was arrested last month on suspicion of seven counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal threat. Authorities are not required to notify victims when suspects are released under Kansas law.

Kristin leaves behind six children ranging in ages 3 to 12. To help Kristin's children, a GoFundMe page has been set up in her honor.
